Условия конкурса радиопьес BBC на 2003 год
LAUNCH OF THE BBC / BRITISH COUNCIL RADIO PLAYWRIGHTING COMPETITION 2003 As most of you will know, the latest search has begun to find the newest
talent in radio playwrighting globally
The successful collaboration between the BBC World Service and British
Council continues with the third of our joint young playwrighting
competitions. The websites are now live at www.britishcouncil.org/arts/ and
www.bbcworldservice.com/programs/.
GET INVOLVED! WE NEED YOU TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT TO ALL OF YOUR CONTACTS!
Entry forms, rules and tips are also downloadable from British Council
and BBC websites www.britishcouncil.org/arts/ and
www.bbcworldservice.com/programs/ (we recommend that you photocopy the
forms if you have been sent some or download them and copy)

competition up on your websites/in a e-bulletin please email

If offices need extra posters there are a couple still available (arts
officers should all have recieved some by now)
ESSENTIAL DETAILS ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
The main awards are for the best play by a writer with English as a
second language and best play by a writer with English as a first language
The main prizes are?2,500 sterling plus a trip to London to see their
play being recorded and to attend a prize giving evening
A short wave radio will be given to runners ups in the five geographical
regions
The competition is open to everyone except UK residents
The competition launches on 4th October 2002 and the closing date for
entries is 30 April 2003
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OFFICES:
All staff with contact with the general public should be aware of the
competition know the web addresses and ideally have additional entry
forms downloaded from the websites/photocopied
Posters should be displayed in prominent areas to catch the attention of
as many people as possible
If you send out email bulletins/updates to your contacts please include
info on the competition and the web address
